Full Steam Ahead

As I look up the mountain, I feel defeated.
I have so much baggage to take with me I am not sure which trunks to take for the ride.
I am overwhelmed with fear that the summit I will not encounter.
But Im going, full steam ahead.

As I packed for the trip, I feel afraid.
I have no one to accompany me on the remarkable journey that I am about to take.
I am exhausted of having to do it all alone.
But Im going, full steam ahead.

As I begin to take a step, I feel liberated.
I have my inner spirit to guide me even when the sun hides behind  the clouds.
I am brave, so I will not look behind when I make decisions.
So I will go...alone, overwhelmed and exhausted...

When you are a strong individual no one thinks that you have weak moments.The stronger you are the more it hurts. Life will continue to throw you curve balls, but its what you do with the mishaps that matters. Never let them see you sweat, relinquish to a higher power and let the universe that care of you. The universe always brings you what you want is up to you to see the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how exhausted you may become. Never give up on you....

Just Because

I don't have to take off my stilettos
...just because I have to walk an extra mile

I don't have to remove my lipstick
... just because I don't feel like smiling

I don't have to stop toting my Gucci purse
... just because my funds are low

I don't have to stop praising God
... just because I had a bad day

I don't have to stop looking in the mirror
... just because I'm looking my best, according to you

I don't have to stop loving my husband
...just because we didn't agree

I don't have to stop feeling like a woman
... just because I lost a breast

I don't have to stop praying and believing
...just because my prayers haven't been answered,
according to my understanding

I don't have to stop being
...just because life keeps going

Despite the ups and downs of life, they don't define me,
it refines me... to move forward... Just Because

Life will toss us things that makes us feel as if we have to always perform at the maximum potential. I have to allow myself a chance to make mistakes, recover from them and move forward. I experience hurts just like any other woman, the difference is not letting those moments shape your future for the worst. I read this poem to myself to remember that  I am allowed to be...human

A Broken Wing

I came into this world ready to soar, but no one told me that I didn't have strong wings to fly.

I came into this world ready to soar, but no one told me that I had to hatch in order to fly.

I came into this world ready to soar, but no one told me that I had to learn to fly.

I just thouught I was suppose to just do it, not think about the things that would delay my flight.

I came into the world to soar, not realizing that I had broken wings...

It is so amazing that you can have a desire to be all that you are not. We see images consistently telling us that this is the standard. So with anything you do, you reach for that because it seems like a happy medium. No one displayed the ups and downs it takes to get there. When you have a goal you don't realize you are not equipped for the journey you want to take, you just take a step. Until you have walked a million miles... in a circle.
